Things I Thought About:
- "It isn't too sore, it’s just frustrating and a little fatiguing.” This is something I have said several times in the past few days, and right now I am, in fact, frustrated and fatigued. Also sore.
- I decide to pull into Eakin park and just check if there are birds on the backstop. As always, there are plenty.
- I sit on the hood of my car and spend several minutes watching a nice little flock of bluebirds light on the fence, take off, skim the ball field low, fly to the tree line to my left, return to the fence. It's a wonderful way to kill time.
- I spend about twenty minutes soaking up the scenery, the bluebirds in flight, a married house finch couple, a wren singing somewhere on the left, a pileated woodpecker far off behind the fields, the pock pock pock of tennis balls on the courts behind me. It's all wonderfully soothing.
- At a certain point I move to sit in my tailgate. There's a single tree that seems to be running a good business in birds. Heavy traffic.

- I heard a great joke this week. What kind of pants does a ghost hunter wear?
- just a paranormal jeans
BOTD: Carolina wren. He was singing his head off. Unfortunate that tree branch made a shadow across him, but I wasn't really in a position to get closer or find a better angle. Such a sweet little bird. It's always nice to hear a wren.
