Things I Thought About:
- The central premise of my "Of the Day" blog is breaking down very severely here at the end of Q3. Good thing it is free.
- Surely it's not too obvious and I should not feel bad about it. People love getting bullshit, contentless emails.
- I did not see a single bird today. I did not leave the office from 8:12 am until 6:17 pm, and I don't know if you've noticed, but the daylight is basically gone by 7:30 pm now. The evening commute was an hour and twenty minutes, door to door.
- The man going through the turnstile next to mine this morning had $1457.10 on his Metro account and I have not stopped thinking about it for fifteen hours.
- Someday this blog will be cited in clinical literature, "The self-reported and observable effects of decreased personal outdoor time reflected in diminished stamina and poorer mental health." And whatnot.
- I haven't seen a hawk or an owl in ages. The only raptors I've seen all summer are ospreys, admittedly fabulous, and bald eagles, which generally suck. Help me manifest a hawk this weekend.
Back Up BOTD: hawks. Here are some hawks I have seen.

Boy, 2024 was really the Year of the Hawk, huh? I miss them.
Thanks for hanging in there, pals. I will do some birding this weekend, never fear.
