Where: around my complex

When: 6:20 am

Bird Species: Carolina wren, house sparrow, northern cardinal, gray catbird

Things I Thought About:

• My Mom. Today is her birthday. She would have been 90.
• Probably, not actually? Not many people are 90. But she should have made it much longer than she did.
• It's good that the sun is up. This is nice. I should set my alarm for 5:35 am every day, probably. Every day in the summer, I mean.

BOTD: Carolina wren.

He was singing his head off at 6:00 am. I love him. I meant to write a lot about him, and a little about my mom, who was the most loving person you could ever meet and who I miss every day. But most of that went into another document that I'll probably never do anything with, but which is robbing the blog of a lot of Things I Thought content.

Instead, I took the walk, took the photos, went into the district to work for nine hours with "senior leadership" in town, and then went out and got hammered on senior leadership's dime. I sobered a bit on the ride back in, and then I got Burger King, but I am definitely not up for anything more than "IM DRUNK HERE'S A WREN."
