Where: a playground in my complex
When: 1:00 pm
Bird Species: northern cardinal, northern mockingbird, gray catbird, house finch, house sparrow, song sparrow, European starling, American crow
Things I Thought About:
- One of my current background television selections is an idle New Girl rewatch. In season 4 Alan Ritchson plays a beanie-wearing artist with a micropenis. I watched New Girl before I encountered Alan Ritchson in his Reacher persona, and I vaguely remembered the actor in that role as being hot and funny, which he is. You could have knocked me over with a feather when I saw him this time around and realized it was Reacher.
- Alan Ritchson, who, respectfully, I would like to crawl all over like he's some of this playground equipment, is also very funny in The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, a very good time at the movies.
- Nick Miller is a psyop. Propaganda for losers. Bad for women!!!
- Easily the hottest kiss I've ever seen on a sitcom, though.
- Why are there so many birds on the playground today? It's really cute, but uncommon. Everybody is hopping around on the ground instead of being in the trees, which I where I like to take photos of birds.
- Pinky!! Pinky? Honestly, I don't think anyone can hold it against if I'm not sure anymore. Let us be excited as if he is Pinky, and if he is not Pinky, he's just a cool mottled cardinal.
- Oh, I get it. We had the lawn crew in all week doing a lot of landscaping and mowing and mulching, and it has stirred up every bug and grub and worm in the Earth's crust. Everybody is hopping around on the ground for Snacks Reasons.
- The bugs are a buffet for the birds, and my ankles are a buffet for the bugs.
- A bit of a cliche, don't you think:
- Alan Ritchson has tiny eyeglasses and a preposterous Danish accent in The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. I love Guy Ritchie movies. I love hot men in good clothes.
- There is a shot of Henry Cavill grinning in that movie that caused an audible "umph" sound in my showing.
- Did In the Grey even open? I feel like I should know this.
- I read recently where Max Greenfield has been in another network series for like nine years now? I just saw him in Running Point (a show about how a real-life costume designer hates Kate Hudson) but I think this was a show on CBS, a network full of the highest rated shows on television that I have never heard of.
- Literally the only bird not on the ground is this mockingbird, who is clearly looking to fuck somebody up.
- For someone who genuinely does touch grass each and every day, I consume an awful lot of media. Should I take a dance class or something? Or pottery?
- Or a photography class, for that matter. I do have a niche blog with photos now.
BOTD: the house finch. There were a bunch of them around, foraging on the grass and in the new fill at the playground. The males' colors really popped against the green grass, and it was a pretty gray day otherwise. I was happy to see them.
