Bird of the Day: song sparrow. Because it was there.

Where: around the complex

When: 8:25 pm

Bird Species: gray catbird, song sparrow, American robin

Things I Thought About:

  • I put off getting a photo all day because it was so, so hot, and then there was a ferocious thunderstorm that lasted until damn near 8:30pm. There is statistically about a zero percent chance of getting any kind of photo.
  • I don't see any birds, but I do see a faint rainbow. Nice.
  • I watched Red, White, and Royal Blue today and Uma Thurman's Texas accent is preposterous.
  • Well, this is hopeless, but the sky is doing some really cool stuff. It's now much brighter than it was twenty minutes ago, and it has passed through a bunch of sherbet orange shades into a deep purple-rose in front of me, and ordinary blue skies of a long summer evening behind me. I'm glad I stepped out, even if the blog will be a bust.

BOTD: a song sparrow on a wire. Yeah, yeah, nothing interesting. That is bound to happen now and again. 365 days in a year, after all.

Birds were nowhere, but here are three unedited photos of the sky across ten minutes. Pretty good.
