Things I Thought About:
- After four years of saying “I should really hang some shelves” a handyman is coming by today to hang some shelves. I’m giddy.
- I did not go on a bird walk today. I was working from home because of the handyman and got my days mixed up.
- I thought I would get a bird after work, but I forgot it is a pub quiz night, even though it takes me away from my new life’s passion, which is shelving things and shopping online for things to place on shelves.
- Luckily, there's this tree by my balcony, where birds tempt and distract me all goddamn day.
BOTD: American robin. This bird simply would not turn around and face me, you coward. Please enjoy another bird cloaca, you all loved it so much yesterday.
He posed in the tree for so long that I roused myself to walk down to my parking lot to try to get a better shot, which I did not.
I saw him later in the day with a much longer collection of straw in his mouth, but I was in a Teams meeting and could do nothing about it.
They lay eggs three or four times a season, and would have started in April or May, so this may be the last clutch. He looks young to me to be making a nest. Babies having babies, SMDH.
